Students and staff at E-ACT Ousedale School, recently named Milton Keynes School of the Year, are celebrating another exceptional year of A-level results, with success across a wide range of subjects and university destinations. This year, 45% of all grades awarded at Ousedale were B or higher with a fifth of grades being A*/A – a reflection of the dedication, talent and ambition of students and staff alike. The school, which is part of the E-ACT academy trust, continues to build on its reputation for academic excellence and strong pastoral support.  Some of this year’s standout individual achievements include: 

• Elliott who achieved four A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and EPQ and is heading to the University of Oxford to study Biological Sciences
• Annie who achieved four A* grades in Art, Business, Geography and EPQ and is heading to the University of Warwick to study International Management
• Mia who achieved three A* grades in Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics), English Literature and Sociology and is heading to the University of Bristol to study English
• Finlay who achieved two A* grades and two A grades in Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science and Physics and is heading to Durham University to study Physics
• Emily who achieved one A* and two A grades in Psychology, English Literature and Art and is heading to the University of Nottingham to study Education
• Grace who achieved one A* and two A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and is heading to University of Manchester to study Optometry
• Sophie who achieved a Distinction* Distinction and an A grade in Health and Social Care and Sociology and is heading to Oxford Brooks to study Midwifery.

The following students demonstrated exceptional progress during their Post-16 studies by achieving, on average, 2 grades higher than expected across their subjects: Mia, Max, Callum, Daniel, Jamie, Matthew and Xander.  85% of the cohort have applied to and accepted university places; 40% are attending Russell Group universities. A continuing trend of higher-level apprenticeships being applied for and accepted by students.

Ousedale Headteacher, Paul McFadden, said: 

"These results represent years of hard work and commitment from our students, supported by exceptional teaching and guidance. Our sixth formers leave Ousedale with the character, confidence and sense of purpose to thrive in the world beyond school. I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved. We wish all of our sixth form students the very best of luck in their future endeavours and I am sure that they will be able to utilise their experiences at Ousedale to have continued success in the future.

The progress that Year 13 students across E-ACT have made this year is better at every academy than in 2024 and provisional positive “value added” scores show that students are making progress above their peers nationally.  This valued added figure shows how much progress A-level students made between the end of Key Stage 4 (GCSEs) and the end of their sixth form studies, compared to similar students in England. A score above zero means students made more progress, on average, than students across England who got similar GCSEs."
