Parent Empowerment Evening - Supporting your child transition to secondary school

This dedicated session for parents and carers of Year 6 pupils will focus on supporting your child as they transition to secondary school - a significant and sometimes challenging milestone.
During the evening, we will share practical strategies and expert advice from guest speakers on:
- Setting routines and boundaries
- Encouraging independence
- Understanding different parenting approaches
- Supporting your child emotionally and academically
Our aim is to provide reassurance, guidance and useful tools to help your child feel confident and thrive as they begin secondary school.
Please note: This session is open to all Year 6 parents and carers, regardless of which campus your child will attend in September.
Parent Empowerment Evening – Building positive connections with young people
We are also pleased to offer a Parent Empowerment Evening open to all parents and carers, focusing on building positive connections with young people.

This session will explore:
- How to navigate stressful “pinch points” in the school year
- Supporting your child without causing conflict
- Understanding mental health and wellbeing
- Where to access support in the community outside of school
We are excited to welcome guest speakers, including:
- Ragdoll Therapeutic Services, supporting young people locally
- The Fire Service, sharing important advice on water safety
- Our Safer Schools Police Officer, offering guidance on community safety
Important Information
These events will take place across our different campuses, but you are very welcome to attend either session regardless of which campus your child attends.
Supporting young people isn’t always easy, but you don’t have to do it alone. These evenings are a fantastic opportunity to gain practical strategies, hear from experts and feel more confident in the conversations that matter.
