Ousedale students celebrate another successful year on GCSE results day.
Once again congratulations are in order for our Year 11 students - we are delighted that in spite of the increased challenge and new courses being examined for the first time this summer students at Ousedale have achieved considerable success in their GCSEs. Our results show that high standards from previous years have not only been maintained but in some areas improved still further: 6% of grades awarded were at the new level 9 with an incredible 25% of grades 7- 9, the old A-A*; 22 9s were awarded in History and 24 in English Literature. We are particularly pleased the core subjects of English, Maths, French, History and the 3 sciences achieved very strong results, 80% passing on the new standard, giving students a very strong basis for the next stage in their journey.
Some of our top performing students include:
Dylan Smith (9 – 9s, A*, D*), Amity Duncan (9 - 9s, A, 6) Alessia Farr (9 – 9s, 8), Tomos Mather (7 – 9s, 8, 7, 6, A**), Timothy Ball (6 – 9s, 3 – 8s, 7, A*), Rosie Bannerman (6 – 9s, 2 – 8s, 2 – 7s), Eve McNamara (6 – 9s, 2 – 8s, 7, 6, A), Isabella Palmer (6 – 9s, 4 – 8s), Jack Rodden (6 – 9s, 2 – 8s, 7, 6, A*).
These results are a testimony to the hard work that students and staff have put in over the last two years combined with the fantastic support of parents. Many students will go on to study in our 6th Form, but we wish all students the best as they start their next journey whether that is studying full time or taking up an apprenticeship.
