Ousedale Student Parliament

September 2011 sees the launch of our brand new Student Parliament.

For the first time, students will elect representatives to the Student Parliament in a whole school election taking place on Wednesday 28th September.

Students wishing to put themselves forward for election will need to nominate themselves to Heads of Year by 16th September, present their election ideas to their Year Assembly and produce an election manifesto.

Students will select their top candidate from their year group and candidates achieving the most votes will be elected onto the Student Parliament.

Sixth Form will elect 8 representatives, Years 7 – 11 at Newport Pagnell will elect 4 representatives each, and Years 7 – 11 at Olney will elect 2 representatives each. This will create a representative body of 38 elected students with 2 additional posts for the Head Boy and Head Girl chosen in Sixth Form.

The Whole School Parliament will meet as a full body twice each year. The Parliament will itself be further divided up into a Sixth Form Council, Upper School Council, Lower School Council, and Olney Campus Council. These Councils will meet five times each year. Elected students will also join one of three further committees to focus on aspects of school life, specifically ‘Learning’, ‘Community’, and ‘Events’. These committees will meet three times each year.

Details of how to paticipate and more details are provided in the links below:
