Requirements

Depending on the level of Award that you are working towards, the requirements of the scheme will change as follows:

 

For the Bronze Award (14+years):

Service 3 months
Skills 3 months
Physical Recreation     3 months
Expeditions Plan, prepare for and undertake a 2 day, 1 night venture
Also: A further 3 months in either the Service, Skills or Physical Recreation section (ie one section must be undertaken for 6 months, the other 2 must last 3 months)

 
 For the Silver Award (15+years)*:

Service 6 months
Skills 3/6 months**
Physical Recreation   3/6 months**
Expeditions Plan, prepare for and undertake a 3 day, 2 night venture
Also: People who do not have the Bronze Award must spend a further 6 months in either the Service or the longer of the Skills or Physical Recreation Sections (ie you must do 12, 6 and 3 months in your 3 sections if you do not hold the bronze award, however your service must be for at least 6 months)

*Students that have completed the bronze award, and have recieved their certificate, but are only 14 years old can continue into the silver level immediately, and do not have to wait until they are 15.

** Either the Skills or the Physical Recreation section can be undertaken for 6 months, the other only requires 3 months

 

For the Gold Award (16+years)*: 

Service 12 months
Skills 6/12 months**
Physical Recreation   6/12 months**
Expeditions Plan, prepare for and undertake a 4 day, 3 night venture
Residential Undertake a shared activity in a residential setting away from home for 5 days and 4 nights
Also:

People who do not have the Silver Award must spend a further 6 months in either the Service or the longer of the Skills or Physical Recreation Sections (ie you must do 18, 12 and 6 months in your 3 sections if you do not hold the bronze award, however your service must be for at least 12 months)

*There is no allowance at gold level for those that hold a Silver Award. All participants must be 16 years old before enrolling.

**Either the Skills or the Physical Recreation section can be undertaken for 12 months, the other only requires 6 months
