Test TubesCourse Content:

Chemistry is an interesting and rewarding subject. It can be difficult to grasp some of the concepts involved and as a result the Chemistry team have developed an introductory course which is followed for the first few weeks. This enhances practical skills and builds confidence.

Chemistry is a high status subject and is required if students wish to pursue a medical or veterinary degree. It is a subject that keeps options open and can be used as a stepping stone for a wide variety of degree courses and careers.

The modular course allows flexibility for spacing out examination load and allows staff and students to set short-term targets regularly.

Students will be expected to read around the subject in their allocated private study period, and to complete any work set by staff specifically for that time.

Students will be able to develop an awareness of Chemistry in the wider world and build on problem-solving, communication and analytical skills. It is anticipated that students following this course will feel confident about the subject as they move on to the next step in their academic achievement.
