Any planned absence must be requested in advance from the school. The Government strongly urges parents to avoid booking family holidays during term time as this will disrupt education.
There is no right to take a child out of school for a holiday. However, if parents apply in advance to Matron, they may in exceptional circumstances be granted up to 2 weeks (10 days) absence in one school year.

(Year 10 and 11 must submit both forms).
Unauthorised absence may result in a fixed penalty fine issued by the Senior Attendance Officer (Legal Interventions) at the Youth Offending Team.
