The course is tiered into two levels and students will be entered at the level appropriate to their abilities. Foundation covers grades C - G, Higher covers grades A* - D. The progress of each student will then be monitored at regular intervals and movement between levels will be made if deemed necessary.
Students in Set 1 will have the opportunity to extend their mathematical knowledge by taking GCSE Additional Maths as an extra qualification. The course includes topics such as Calculus and offers students a "taster" of A Level Maths. Students in lower Maths sets follow the Graduated Assessment course; they will sit three module tests in Years 10 and 11 as well as a terminal exam.
