The school libraries at both campuses provide a great resource for students, jointly providing over 25,000 titles and 30 computers. The database is shared so books can be requested and quickly transferred, typically in under 2 days.
Students are encouraged to use the Library to carry out research and homework assignments as well as of course reading for pleasure! They are also involved with running the library, helping on a rota basis during break and lunchtimes. A supervised after-school homework club runs from Monday to Thursday.
Although computer games and mobile phones are not allowed we do have suitable games available such as Chess and Boggle.
Year 7 students receive an induction to help them learn their way around the Library and through the 'Booked Up' scheme they are able to choose a book to keep!
Initiatives such as the Man Booker Prize reading panel and lunchtime reading groups are also offered as well as Author visits and themed weeks.
