ICT
In Years 8-11 students have a "Core" ICT lesson in which they learn the basics of the use of ICT.
These lessons are intended to allow students develop the main skills in office, web development, graphics and animation software as well as developing an awareness of the advantages and appropriate use of ICT in society. The Programme of Study for the National Curriculum in ICT is followed, but specialist staff are able to use their own interests to enhance lessons and give students a broad experience of a wide range of applications of ICT in a modern and stimulating context.
Please refer to the Key Stage 3 and 4 sections for more information.
ICT work is completed in other subjects using the facilities in the ICT Department, and at various other locations around our school.

There are five fully equipped ICT rooms in the department, with other suites situated in other parts of the campuses. We use Promethean interactive whiteboards in our ICT suites, to improve the effectiveness of our teaching and enhance the learning experience of our students. The network is maintained by a team our Technical Manager and 4 other technicians. |
