Introduction to Course
The GCSE course studies the events and changes in the modern world with a special focus on how it changed between 1906 and 1918. You will not just learn what happened but also how to study the past by using documents, cartoons, diaries, maps, films and propaganda. You will learn how to make your own judgements and how to detect bias. History will help you to develop skills in reading, writing, analysing information and thinking - all these help prepare you for the world of work, or further study.
History GCSE offers all students an equal chance of achievement. We teach you in setted groups and this enables you to work at your own pace. Whatever set you are in, you still have a chance at achieving a high grade - especially if you work hard throughout the two years.
