Introduction to the course
This course focuses on the business aspects of organisations within their economic, political and social contexts. Business Studies involves the investigation of how enterprise adds value by organising the production of goods and services.
The performance of business is studied from a range of perspectives. Using case studies, Business Studies ensures students have knowledge, understanding and experience of the real world of business organisations. Students will also be required to sit a number of examination based tests during the course in order to check their understanding and progress.
Although the use of ICT is incorporated into Business Studies it should be emphasised that Business Studies is not a computer skills course.
