Science Year 8 Light and Sound

What you have to do

Most of us take light and sounds for granted in our lives. Think about and research how audio and visual technology has changed since your parents were children, then write a project on it. Your parents will be a good starting point for this research!

How you do it

Here are some things you might want to include:

• A timeline of how this technology has changed in the last 30 to 50 years.
• Personal experiences of how this technology has affected you, your parents and/or older people.
• What are the good things about modern audio and visual technology? Are there any bad effects or disadvantages? What are they?
• Can you make predictions of how the technology may change in the future?
• Can you explain, (in words that you understand), how some of these gadgets work?
• What would it be like if you lost your sense of hearing or sight?

This task is expected to take at least 3 hours to complete to a good standard. If you have taken less than that you should make improvements to it.
