What you have to do

1. Radioactivity

Research the construction of a typical nuclear power station. Draw a diagram and label all its major features.  You then need to write a few sentences about each of the major features explaining its function, what it’s made of and how it works. You must include the control rods, generator and cooling water.

2. Speed

Research several types of motor car.  For example, a small car eg Mini or Smart car , a medium sized family car , a large people carrier, a sports car, a small van , a large van . a truck.

Look at the manufacturers specifications for them. Most have web sites. List all the safety features for them and list them as safety features for passengers. others people or both. For example air bags protect passengers and ABS brakes help passengers and other people.  Find out which are compulsory and which are optional and find out the price of each car.

Use this information to say if cheaper cars have fewer safety features than more expensive ones .

Write a letter to your MP to suggest ways that more cars could be made safer. You can use the data you have researched to back up your argument
