Analyse the ‘Hancock’ film trailer. Consider the following:
- Media language used to achieve certain effects – lighting, camera work, music, sound effects, shot transitions, mise-en-scene, lighting, editing and framing etc.
- Narrative devices e.g. flashbacks.
- How the genre of the film is established. How does the trailer compare to other trailers for films of the same genre? Consider the iconography.
- The target audience for the film and how this is established. Consider when and where the trailer was advertised.
- Representation
- Relationship between ‘star’, audience and producer.
- Inclusion and positioning of key information. For example, institution.
- Use of enigma codes.
