Legal Professions

Students often decide to study Law at A Level because they have an interest in the career possibilities that are linked to this course.  A career as a barrister or a solicitor is something that many students have some interest but generally little knowledge of, therefore this topic looks at the process by which a student can move through the education system and qualify as either a barrister or a solicitor. We also examine the working practice from a client's point of view if they are dissatisfied with the work that has been carried out by either of the above in their contractual capacity.

A breakdown of the topic:

a) Solicitors

b) Barristers

c) Legal Services Act 2007

d) Fusion

e) Women & Ethnic Minorities in the Legal Profession

Assessment:

You will be assessed on this topic in line with OCR standards.  The assessment will be a past paper question.  This question will test your knowledge and application of that knowledge to AS Level exam standard. Click here to access the question.
