Delegated Legislation

There is a considerable amount of delegation necessary for the smooth working of the introduction, reform and maintenance of new and updated law.  It would be difficult, if not impossible, for this work to be carried out solely by the Houses of Parliament.

Therefore there are provisions that will be examined within this topic that provide for the law to be created and enforced by select groups and individuals.

A breakdown of the topic:

a) Types of Delegated Legislation

b) The need for Delegated Legislation

c) Control of Delegated Legislation

d) Criticisms of the use of Delegated Legislation

Assessment:

You will be assessed on this topic in line with OCR standards.  The assessment will be a past paper question.  This question will test your knowledge and application of that knowledge to AS Level exam standard. Click here to access the question.
